What We Are Developing—and Why

Here, we would like to share something acrylic markers, explain the thinking behind our current 45-color set, and introduce the product directions we are exploring next.

Different Projects Need Different Paint Performance

Dark, rough or highly absorbent surfaces often benefit from a fuller paint layer and stronger opacity. This is especially useful for bold decorative work, layered painting and street-art-style applications.

However, not every project requires a thick, highly opaque paint layer. Illustration, coloring, model decoration and other detail-focused work—on paper, wood, ceramic, glass and more—often require greater control. An overly heavy layer may obscure outlines and fine details, create unwanted texture or make adjustments more difficult.

These applications often benefit from:

* Smoother, more consistent paint flow
* Thinner, more even layers
* Easier adjustment and layering
* A wider, more nuanced color range

## Three Common Paint-Delivery Systems

Valve-Activated System

The paint is stored freely inside the barrel and can be remixed using an internal mixing ball. The marker must usually be shaken and then activated by pressing the tip.

This structure can accommodate fuller-bodied formulas and larger paint reservoirs, making it suitable for bold coverage and repeated layering. However, it requires additional preparation, and excessive pumping may release too much paint.

Fiber-Reservoir System

The paint is absorbed into a porous fiber reservoir and reaches the tip through capillary action. This system is convenient, provides controlled flow and is generally less prone to leaking.

One of the main technical challenges for fiber-reservoir markers is preventing pigment separation and maintaining uniformity during long-term storage. If separation or localized settling occurs, the paint absorbed throughout the fibers cannot be easily redispersed by shaking.

The formula must therefore remain stable during storage while staying fluid enough to move consistently through the fine capillary pathways. Balancing dispersion stability, viscosity, sealing and long-term flow is a key challenge in developing a reliable fiber-reservoir acrylic marker.

Direct-Liquid System

The paint is stored freely inside the barrel. Gravity guides it toward the tip, while an internal buffer layer regulates delivery, providing controlled and continuous flow without repeated tip pumping.

This system requires paint with suitable fluidity, together with carefully balanced airtightness and internal pressure. When not in use, the marker should be capped tightly and stored horizontally to maintain even paint distribution and consistent flow.

Why Woomer Started with Smooth Flow

We began our acrylic marker development by prioritizing ease of use, which led us to introduce the Smooth Flow Series first. This does not mean that the series lacks opacity. Coverage varies by pigment, and some colors still provide strong coverage in a single layer.

The current Woomer 45-Color Dual-Tip Acrylic Marker Set features:

* 45 individual colors
* A hard fine tip for lines and details
* A flexible brush tip for expressive strokes and filled areas
* An independent paint supply for each tip
* Direct-liquid delivery without repeated pumping
* Smooth, consistent flow for drawing, coloring and layering

Many colors already provide good coverage in one layer. When a more solid finish is desired, allow the first layer to dry and add one or two light layers as needed.

The markers can be used on paper, wood, stone, ceramic, glass, metal, PET, canvas accessories, model kits and other craft surfaces. Adhesion may vary on smooth or non-porous materials, so we recomm

end cleaning the surface and testing a small area first. A suitable sealant may be added when greater durability is required.

Internal Structure and Product Series Are Different

“Valve-activated,” “fiber-reservoir” and “direct-liquid” describe how paint is stored and delivered inside a marker.

“Smooth Flow,” “High Opacity,” “High Capacity” and “Specialty Colors” describe the intended performance and creative use of a product series.

We keep these two dimensions separate. The internal structure is an engineering choice, while the series name tells artists what kind of creative experience the marker is designed to provide.

Smooth Flow Series — NEW

Designed for easy handling, continuous paint delivery, even layers and a broader range of colors.

Exploring fuller-bodied formulas and delivery systems for stronger coverage on dark, rough and highly absorbent surfaces.

High-Capacity Series — PLANNED

Designed for larger surfaces, longer painting sessions and projects that require more paint.

Specialty Colors Series — PLANNED

Exploring distinctive colors, finishes and visual effects beyond our standard palette.

These future series are still in the planning and testing stage. Final color selections, specifications and release dates have not yet been confirmed. We are currently evaluating paint stability, tip compatibility, sealing, long-term flow and real-world performance.
